Delete Account and Data

If the Petla app is installed on your phone, you can delete your account directly:

1. Open the Petla app and sign in.
2. Open the "Profile" tab (bottom right).
3. Choose "Settings" → "Delete account".
4. Confirm the deletion.

Deletion starts immediately. All data listed in section 3 is permanently removed within 30 days.

If you no longer have the app installed, or you prefer to request deletion by email, write to: support@petla.app

Please include the email address you used to register with Petla. We confirm receipt within 48 hours and process the deletion within 30 days in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR.

Within 30 days of your deletion request, the following data is permanently removed:

• Account information (email address, name, phone number, password)
• Pet profiles (name, species, breed, date of birth, photos)
• Medical notes and documents you uploaded in the app
• Push notification tokens and notification settings
• Saved location preferences and search history
• Sign-in and session data (login tokens, OAuth connections)

For legal reasons we must retain some data beyond account deletion:

• Anonymized usage statistics (max 12 months, not linked to a person).
• Booking and invoicing data for veterinary appointments where required for accounting (max 10 years under § 147 AO and § 257 HGB).
• Records that the respective veterinarian stores separately from Petla under their professional retention obligations (patient records typically 10 years under § 12 BTÄO and the respective professional regulations).

This retention is based on legal obligations (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR).
